Corning is one of the market leaders in ceramic bodies for automotive catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters. Corning also supplies the technical ceramics for the upcoming gasoline particle filters and relies on thermal process technology from Münstermann for their production.
Stricter regulations for air pollution control
Worldwide, regulations for emissions and air pollution control are tightened. New guidelines are being introduced especially in China, India and Europe. Since diesel particulate filters (DPFs) have been standard equipment in vehicles for many years, gasoline-powered cars will in future also have to be equipped with a fine particulate air filters so that the prescribed residual dust values per kilometre can be complied with.
Münstermann technology makes the difference
For thermo-processing plants, Corning relies on modern technology from Münstermann (see also optimization of dryers and ovens for catalysts). Combined systems consisting of dryer, oven and cooling zone are an all-in-one solution in the manufacture of ceramic elements.
A special award for Münstermann
A special proof of the trust and enthusiasm in the cooperation with Münstermann was the handing over of a special and surprising gift. This is a piece of the first ceramic filter element produced on a Münstermann machine.
