Bastian Heitkötter heads the Research and Development (R&D) group at Münstermann. How should a plant be designed to operate as efficiently as possible? How can an airlock be used to separate the internal and external atmospheres? How can explosion protection be ensured? These are fascinating questions that the 41-year-old and his team are searching for answers to. And finding them.

Switching systems are Oliver Koch's specialty. He's a trained and master energy systems electronics technician. At Münstermann, he works in automation and is responsible for ensuring the systems run smoothly. The 57-year-old explains what he considers essential in switchgear design and what would be an absolute disaster for him.

Christian Hagedorn can be found in Hall 6 – where the hardening furnaces are located. Twenty-five years ago he was an apprentice; today he is a foreman in production. The 40-year-old explains how he combines his work at Münstermann with his local farming and why nothing is possible without a tape measure.

Stefan Rüter is what companies call a true homegrown talent. He completed his dual vocational training as a technical product designer at Münstermann while simultaneously pursuing a part-time degree in mechanical engineering. Today, the 32-year-old sales professional coordinates activities to support the Münstermann team in the USA.

Markus Lockenkötter completed his apprenticeship as a metalworker, ranking fourth best in Germany. He then studied mechanical engineering and worked as a metalworker during semester breaks. Only after that did he join Münstermann, where at the age of 29 he became the youngest project manager on the team. Today, the 41-year-old is deputy department head and tells us how everything turned out right for him.

Sophia Rüter heads the marketing department at Bernd Münstermann GmbH. Her career path at the special-purpose machinery manufacturer demonstrates what is possible when you develop within a strong team – from trainee to head of marketing within ten years.

Maren Mühlbauer is in the second year of her apprenticeship as a metalworker at Münstermann. She's always been fascinated by large machines. Now she's helping to build them herself, piece by piece. The 20-year-old explains what fascinates her about metal as a material and why the fact that it's a male-dominated field isn't an issue for her at all.

Nico Volbert works in research and development (R&D) at Münstermann. The 39-year-old has been with the company for three years and can usually be found in the so-called pilot plant. There, he measures process parameters and calculates the fluid-mechanical behavior of systems. He tells us why he needs so many popsicle sticks and kebab skewers for his current test setup.

Andre Schulze Hobbeling is one of five master craftsmen in production at Münstermann. The 32-year-old has known the company since his apprenticeship as a metalworker. As a journeyman, he first completed his advanced technical college entrance qualification before earning his master craftsman's certificate – both through evening classes. He tells us why university studies aren't for him and why he's committed to training the next generation at Münstermann by creating his own training area. 

Robin Terkl travels the world as a construction manager for Münstermann and has already worked in Malaysia, India, and China. On construction sites, he makes the decisions, keeping an eye on time, costs, and the various assembly teams. The 29-year-old tells us how he became Münstermann's youngest foreman and why his office sometimes fits on a cable drum.

Anika Windhorn has been a design engineer at Münstermann for a year, working in the dryer and oven design group. It's her first job after successfully completing her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Aachen University of Applied Sciences. The 26-year-old tells us about her work with complex bends, experienced colleagues, and the importance of keeping the big picture in mind – which sometimes leads to errors in thinking.

Thomas Krückemeyer is deputy head of the assembly department at Münstermann. The 45-year-old completed his metalworker apprenticeship at the company. He explains how a stay abroad laid the foundation for his career at Münstermann and why he never approaches the company with a comb and scissors.

Helen Bahlo works as a shipping clerk at Münstermann. Together with her two colleagues, she handles the transport of everything that leaves Münstermann – from a single screw to special shipments with large oven sections. The 40-year-old tells us about her daily work amidst hundreds of shipping orders, technicians, and freight forwarders.
