One of our special projects is the de-dusting of a 370-tonne RH-duplex and a Twin-LF plant from SMS Mevac produced for MMK.
Both the size of the de-dusting unit and the assembly in Magnitogorsk in Russia has presented the Münstermann team with a number of challenges.
Design of the unit
The bag filters are of the Type SK60/6.0m XII DR for continuous operation. The type designations in detail are:
- SK60/6.0m: bag chamber filter unit with 60 bags is 6 metres in length
- XII: This unit has 12 chambers
- DR: This unit is in the double-row design
The cleaning of the filters can take place in the SEMI-operating mode or offline. The unit has a continuously variable volume airflow control system of the individual filter chambers and cleverly devised flat slider system.
Further technical details
The volume of air to be cleaned in the de-dusting unit is 390,000 m3 /hour (at 60°C) and can be operated up to maximal 130°C. The residual dust content after filtering is less than 10 mg. The dust concerned is metal oxide and miscellaneous aggregates.
Additional scope of delivery
- Engineering of the chimney stack, silencer and the raw and clean air pipelines
- Dischargers, shut-off and butterfly valves
- Electric fan with a sound-proof housing with a motor rating of 1,250 kW
- SPS-filter control system
From the placing of the order to commissioning in Magnitogorsk a period of just less than 9 months was needed, which represents a remarkable achievement for a plant of this size and at a location in the eastern regions of Russia.
